Because several provisions touch central laws, the Bill must still be routed through the Union Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs for the President’s assent under Article 254(2) before it can be brought into force.

2. CM Inaugurates Godrej Consumer Products’ Fourth Malanpur Unit

Why in News: CM Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated Godrej Consumer Products Limited’s fourth manufacturing unit in the Malanpur industrial area, Bhind district, on 26 August 2026.

What happened: The expansion carries an investment of over Rs 450 crore, with the company citing over Rs 480 crore for the fourth unit and Rs 850 crore cumulative on the 65-acre site, and is projected to create more than 2,250 new jobs. Post-expansion annual capacity includes roughly 42 crore hair-colour sachets, 14 crore mosquito-repellent units and 10 crore air-freshener sachets. 3. CM Reviews Simhastha-2028 Preparations at Omkareshwar

Why in News: CM Dr Mohan Yadav travelled to Omkareshwar in Khandwa district on the evening of 26 August 2026 and held a review meeting on Simhastha-2028 preparations.

What happened: After the Bhind inauguration, the CM flew via Indore to the Omkareshwar helipad, offered worship at the Rajrajeshwari temple at Khedighat on the Narmada bank, joined the evening aarti at the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, and reviewed pilgrim facilities, traffic management, security, basic infrastructure and religious-tourism works with officials. 4. MPCA Annual Awards Distribute a Record Rs 2.94 Crore at Indore

Why in News: The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association held its Annual Awards for the 2025-26 season at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore, on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.

What happened: The association distributed Rs 2,94,29,508 among men’s and women’s cricketers, teams and support staff. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who called MPCA “cricket’s temple”, and former India pacer Javagal Srinath were present. The Cooch Behar Trophy-winning MP Under-19 team took the largest single award at Rs 73,83,750, and the senior women’s T20 runners-up team received Rs 40 lakh. Players who broke into the India set-up, namely Saransh Jain, Anadi Tagade, Yashwardhan Chauhan and Manal Chauhan, received Rs 5 lakh each. What happened: Ekatma Dham is the Adi Shankaracharya memorial complex on Mandhata hill at Omkareshwar. The Panchayatan temple project forms part of the wider development of the site, which already hosts the Statue of Oneness.
