The wider list of firms engaged. GEMS Education, Crescent Group, PureHealth, Sharaf Group, Choithrams, DP World, BeauMerc Corporation, West Zone, KGK Group, Vistas Media Capital and VFS Global, spanning education, healthcare, retail, logistics, gems and jewellery, media and visa services. Individual amounts for these were not disclosed.

Where each component lands in national policy. The 2,000 MW solar tranche maps to the National Solar Mission; the 200 MW electrolyser plant to the National Green Hydrogen Mission (approved January 2023, Rs 19,744 crore outlay); the AI compute node to the IndiaAI Mission (approved March 2024, Rs 10,371.92 crore outlay); and the recycling complex to the National Critical Mineral Mission.

A note on what these figures are. These are non-binding proposals and expressions of intent, not signed agreements or committed capital. The state’s stated intention is to crystallise them into investment agreements ahead of GIS 2027. Conversion rates from summit intent to realised investment are historically well below announced totals, which is itself a standard MPPSC Mains discussion point.

2. MPIDC Wins the “Winner Asia” Award at the AIM Investment Awards 2026

Why in News: The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) received the “Winner Asia” award at the AIM Investment Awards 2026 in Dubai, cited for excellence in investment promotion, foreign direct investment attraction, job creation, innovation and sustainable development. The award is conferred alongside the Annual Investment Meeting Congress and recognises investment promotion agencies by region.

What MPIDC is, in the terms MPPSC asks. MPIDC is the state’s nodal investment promotion agency and industrial infrastructure developer, created by consolidating the earlier regional industrial development corporations. It develops and manages industrial areas and parks, allots land, administers the state’s industrial promotion policy incentives, and acts as the single-window interface for investors. It sits under the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Why an IPA award is not the same as investment. An investment promotion agency award measures the quality of the promotion function, that is, outreach, facilitation and after-care, and not the quantum of capital actually landed in the state. 3. Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan 2026: Indore Loses the Top Rank by One Point; Bhopal Joint Fourth

Why in News: On 7 September 2026 (International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, or Swachh Vayu Diwas), the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change released the 5th Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan at Indira Environment Bhawan, New Delhi. In the >10 lakh population category, Lucknow ranked first with 198 out of 200, Indore second with 197, Jabalpur third with 195, and Bhopal and Agra tied fourth with 192 each. NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava was chief guest. 130 NCAP cities were assessed across three population categories, and 108 cities recorded PM10 improvement over the 2017-18 baseline.

The single point that cost Indore the top rank. Indore had scored a perfect 200 in the 2025 edition. The 2026 shortfall was attributed principally to PM10 performance, with the city’s high vehicle density identified as the underlying pressure. This is the distinction MPPSC tests: PM10 is coarse particulate matter, dominated by road dust, construction and re-suspension, whereas PM2.5 is fine particulate matter dominated by combustion sources.

4. Emaar Invited into the Indore-Pithampur-Ujjain Development Corridor

Why in News: At the AIM Congress, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav met Mohamed Alabbar, founder and managing director of Emaar Properties, and invited the group to invest in integrated mixed-use urban projects, townships, hospitality and urban development in Madhya Pradesh, specifically naming the Indore-Pithampur-Ujjain Development Corridor. Emaar’s existing Indian presence in the state includes Emaar Continental City, a plotted and villa development off the Super Corridor Extension Road at Indore.

What the Indore-Pithampur-Ujjain corridor is. It is the state’s proposed contiguous urban-industrial belt linking three anchors: Indore, the state’s commercial capital; Pithampur in Dhar district, the established automotive and pharmaceutical industrial hub often called the “Detroit of India”; and Ujjain in the Malwa region, the Simhastha city and a growing services and religious-tourism node. Why in News: The 40th instalment of the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, at Rs 1,500 per beneficiary, is due to reach over 1.25 crore women in Madhya Pradesh by 15 September 2026. The transfer is to be authorised by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav by Direct Benefit Transfer at a state-level event, with the date to be fixed after his return from Dubai on 9 September. Beneficiaries can check status at cmladlibahna.mp.gov.in using a registered mobile number or Samagra ID.

The scheme, in the terms MPPSC asks. Ladli Behna is Madhya Pradesh’s unconditional cash transfer to women, launched in 2023, beginning at Rs 1,000 a month and raised in stages. Eligibility rests on domicile in Madhya Pradesh, an age band, and household income and asset ceilings, with verification through the Samagra family database and payment through DBT into the woman’s own Aadhaar-seeded account. The Aadhaar-seeded, individually held account is the design feature that matters: it puts the transfer in the woman’s own hands rather than the household’s.

The fiscal question that follows it. A monthly transfer to more than a crore beneficiaries is a recurring committed liability, not a one-time outlay, and it competes with capital expenditure inside the same state budget.
