What Schizopygopsis Waddellii Is

Snowtrouts (genera Schizothorax, Schizopygopsis, Ptychobarbus) are a group of cyprinid fishes adapted to cold, oxygen-rich, high-elevation waters of the Trans-Himalayan and Tibetan Plateau ecosystems. Schizopygopsis waddellii is a cold-adapted omnivore feeding on algae, detritus and small invertebrates.
