INNOPROM.India: A First India-Russia Industrial Fair
INNOPROM.India, described as the first India-Russia International Industrial Trade Fair, is scheduled for September 9 to 11, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with over 200 exhibitors. It is organised by Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade with India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and is timed to precede the 18th BRICS Summit on September 12 and 13.
Planned exhibits include a mock-up of a nuclear power plant with a VVER-1200 reactor, composite products for gas storage and transport, master alloys and powders from rare and rare-earth metals, and models of Russian aircraft and helicopters.
Two precision points. These are a mock-up and models, not actual reactors or aircraft. And Kudankulam units 1 to 6 use VVER-1000/V-412 reactors of the AES-92 design, not VVER-1200. Discussions on a VVER-1200 plant for India remain at the specification stage with no site finalised and no construction contract.
The parent event, INNOPROM, has been held annually at Yekaterinburg since 2010. President Putin’s attendance at the Delhi BRICS Summit is confirmed by the Kremlin; reports that he and the Prime Minister will visit the exposition rest on a single source and should be treated as unconfirmed.
The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement

On August 7, 2026, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, under which an armed attack on one is treated as an attack on all. The three states have said the pact is not directed at any specific country.
Its origin is the Saudi-Pakistan Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement of September 17, 2025. Combined, the three hold roughly 1.4 million active personnel, 3,400 aircraft and 6,000 tanks.
A nuance repeatedly lost in commentary. The pact is often described as combining Turkish defence manufacturing, Saudi finance and Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. Pakistan has never officially extended nuclear deterrence to Saudi Arabia. Its defence minister said available capabilities “will be made available”, then stated that nuclear weapons were “not on the radar”. The nuclear dimension is an inference drawn by analysts, not a published term of the agreement.
Turkiye’s Kurdish Peace Process Reaches an Institutional Stage

Meta Settles With 47 American States

Teen accounts get a default two-hour daily limit removable only with parental permission, a default block from midnight to 6 a.m., notifications muted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on school days, a selectable non-algorithmic feed, hidden like counts, and blocked extreme make-up filters, with an independent auditor over a ten-year term.
The lever worth noting. About 30 per cent of the money, roughly $5.3 billion, is withheld unless YouTube and TikTok adopt comparable measures. A private settlement is being used to push an industry-wide standard, which is a genuinely novel regulatory mechanism.
India’s comparable provisions are Section 9 of the DPDP Act, 2023, which requires verifiable parental consent and bars tracking, behavioural monitoring and targeted advertising directed at children. The DPDP Rules were notified in November 2025 with a staggered rollout.
Protein: The Marketing Has Outrun the Science
Protein-fortified cereals, pasta, chips, coffee and breads have become a major product category, but nutrition researchers point out that most people already consume adequate protein, and that protein intake alone does not build muscle without resistance exercise.
The science, briefly. Protein is one of three macronutrients alongside carbohydrates and fats. Carbohydrates and fats are the body’s major energy sources; protein’s primary role is building and repairing tissue, and supporting the nervous and immune systems, skin and hormones. Proteins are built from 20 types of amino acid, obtained by digesting dietary protein. Animal proteins are generally more digestible than plant proteins, and cooking generally improves digestibility.
The Indian benchmark, and it cuts against the supplement industry. ICMR-NIN sets an Estimated Average Requirement of 0.66 g and a Recommended Dietary Allowance of 0.83 g of protein per kg of body weight for a healthy adult, roughly 54 g a day for a 65 kg person. The ICMR-NIN Dietary Guidelines, 2024 advise against protein supplements. The guidelines also revised the recommended cereal to pulses to milk ratio from 11:1:3 to 3:1:2.5, raising the place of pulses as a protein source.
