SAMUDRA (INCOIS Ocean Information App)

SAMUDRA (Smart Access to Marine Users for Ocean Data Resources and Advisories) is a mobile application developed by the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), which operates under the Ministry of Earth Sciences. It delivers real-time ocean information and early warnings, including tsunami, high-wave, swell-surge and ocean-current alerts, plus Potential Fishing Zone advisories for the fishing community. The upgraded SAMUDRA 2.0 is a multilingual platform adding tuna advisories and small-vessel alerts with improved map-based features. INCOIS has partnered with the NDMA on marine multi-hazard services for India's coastline, including the Swell-Surge Inundation Vulnerability Advisory System (SIVAS) piloted on the Kerala coast.
