Daily Current Affairs 7 November 2026
The 7 November 2026 edition opens with two deep dives on Supreme Court orders of 6 November 2026. The first is Union of India v Rohith Nathan, in which the Court refused to reconsider its March 2026 OBC creamy layer judgment and said its principle will not by itself reopen concluded selections but shall govern service allocation for CSE-2025. The second is Himachal Pradesh’s suit over Bhakra-Beas power, in which the Court directed Punjab and Haryana to supply about 598 MU a year over 20 lean seasons.
The roundup covers the developments of 4 to 6 November: the order on rice and paddy stock disclosure, with the OMSS(D) rice sale target doubled; 12 more ECMS approvals and the Semicon 2.0 web portal; the Election Commission’s directive for ASDD electors, as reported; the Gauhati High Court quashing Pranab Doley’s NSA detention; the NCLT Mumbai order declaring Venugopal Dhoot bankrupt; the VAJRA-SAT exercise; and GRAP Stage III across the NCR. Three editorials complete the edition: from The Hindu, the editorial on voter ID, the electoral roll and welfare, and Anindya S. Chakrabarti, Chirantan Chatterjee and Samarth Gupta on demonetisation and the health costs of cash shortages; and from The Indian Express, Niharika Yadav on FEMA and the RBI’s draft foreign investment rules. A UPSC-pattern quiz closes the day.
