What happened: Nationally, over 1.41 lakh water-conservation works had been completed as of 6 August under the campaign, launched on 1 June 2026 by merging the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB) initiative with the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain (JSA:CTR) drive, and reinforced by a focused nationwide push from 4 July to 4 August 2026. Rajasthan’s 63,470 completed works placed it well ahead of the second-best performer, Chhattisgarh with 61,450, and far ahead of Himachal Pradesh (3,591), Punjab (2,933) and Telangana (2,735).
