Overview

SWAYAM — Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds — is India’s national MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform launched on 9 July 2017 by President Pranab Mukherjee. It is a Government of India programme designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of education policy: access, equity, and quality. The platform hosts free online courses from Class 9 to postgraduate level, developed by the best faculty in the country, and offers academic credit transfer recognised by UGC.

SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have been untouched by the digital revolution, taking the best teaching-learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged.
